What Lengths Do You Go To?

As in what do you do to keep running. I was pondering this as my knee was too sore to run the past few days. So far I'm:

1. Wearing ortheodics
2. To redue swelling taking:
a. Omega 3 pills
b. Just started trying glucosamine chondroitin

Which doesn't even take into account lots of stretching and pilates.

I'd say worth it, but seems like a long trip down hill.

Neil: I have used something called "Superfeet" for years that seems to help (they are green inserts, and I think Dick's has them now).

Also, I take MSM for joints, but glucosamine/chondroitin seemed to help me (before I realized it had shellfish, to which I am allergic).

Try your best to find grass or a good track to run on at least part of the time.

Do cross training to replace running mileage (I used to roller blade and bike, but really I just run and play tennis now).

Keep a positive attitude. It helps to run some races and see how you're doing in your age group. Inevitably, you're right, we're going to get slower and slower. The best we can do is slow the rate of decline!!
