We used to run for Coach Gary Truce at SUNY Binghamton a long time ago! We're over a half-century old now (and yikes, many of us are over 65). BUT we still run, bike, ROW, XC ski, walk, and work out! Please join us, whether or not you ran for Gary!

The Sub-5 Mile Blues Video
Without further ado, here it is!!! Please make sure to post your comments, if you aren't laughing so hard you can't get up off the floor!
Truthfully, my brother wrote the song, based on my frequent comments about wanting to break 5 in the mile, even at my age. And of course, the wife doesn't really understand why I can't just enjoy running for health, why I feel the need to compete, train, and even suffer to accomplish this. I'm not sure I understand it either...I just want to do it! Of course the song isn't really all that encouraging, but based on a 5:17 last December with almost no track workouts, I think I have a shot, if I can keep up my current training. I've been doing 2 speed workouts per week (a tempo run for one, and quarters on the track for the other), and trying to get in 25 to 30 miles per week total, plus tennis. My time trials are usually done on a weekend, with no break in training. I need to do one with a day's rest or a race with a day's rest to really see where I am.

Well done! I like everything about it.
Mike plays a nice guitar.
An ode to glories past or a dirge to the aches and pains of the present?
